Depends on your situation - common wisdom is that a tripod can only have 2 of the following characteristics: sturdy, light, cheap.

There's a video of a Verizon iPhone 4 running on Sprint. Thought I don't believe it lol.
Verizon iPhone 4 Unlocked for Sprint (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJr7P5P0QRM)
Something about it doesn't sound right...
Something doesn't sound right because it's a load of garbage. Unless he's a Sprint employee who is able to provision new devices on the Sprint network, his video is a fake.
It's not as simple as unlocking the GSM iPhone to work on a network other than AT&T or placing some random file on the phone.

Christ for the last 30 minutes the power in the entire hospital was out, normal power, backup power, emergency generators.
Operating room no power, Critical Care no power, OBS no power. Thankfully some things have batteries that last a small amount of time, max 15-20 minutes.
One of the scariest things ever hearing people in OR and CCC screaming for flashlights and nurses and drs.
Glad I wasn't on the table. :D

On the topic of Apple Store from 1997, does anyone have archives of old on-line www.apple.com from the years 1999-2004? I am interested in seeing those PowerPC ads from the last 10 years.. I know there is an archive of older www.apple.com websites showing the PowerMacs, PowerBooks, etc..
Check out wayback machine (http://waybackmachine.org/*/http://apple.com).
+1... you can use the same site in the original post and mess around with it for any URL you want. It's pretty cool. By same site I mean waybackmachine.

There's an article in today's NY Times titled, "Gadgets You Should Get Rid Of (or Not) (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/24/technology/personaltech/24basics.html)." It says (emphasis added):
DIGITAL MUSIC PLAYER Lose it (probably). Do you have a smartphone? Then you have a music player. Why load yourself down with an extra gadget? Apple popularized the music player with its iPod, but when was the last time you saw that iconic white box with the dial on the front? Music is data, and many multifunction devices can handle it along with many other kinds of data (like video, e-mail and apps). The one exception may be if you enjoy music while exercising. In that case, a tiny player like the $49 iPod Shuffle might be a better accessory than a larger, heavier smartphone.
If I already have all of those products that they are telling me to lose (iPod, GPS, etc) why should I "lose" it? This article is pretty useless.

Got that part, but what does it mean? Does the genius take a sharpie and write 5k across the screen or something
It's the serial number. Go into your settings, click about, scroll down to serial number and see what your first 2 numbers are.

Maybe not walking around, but at home on a desk I could imagine it.
Not to being a pain but why would I do that if I could have proper video chat on my laptop/desktop then? Sorry but that won't work as some poor attempts in the link from above posts.
Apple got already some patent for camera behind screen and that I would call a cool feature

You do know that iTunes is available for Windows, right? And, iTunes works with many MP3 Player (I use it with my old Rio 600). The only thing you need an iPod for is to play songs purchased from the iTunes Music Store (other than on your computer of course). You can still rip all of your CD's to MP3 format and use your old MP3 player.

Yeah, Pixar pretty much wins every year except for Cars and Monsters Inc. There was not a category for animated film when Toy Story and Toy Story 2 were released.
This year Toy Story 3 was nominated for Best Picture also, which is a big deal since that's only happened three times for an animated film (Beauty and the Beast, UP and Toy Story 3).
Jobs actually went to the Oscars last year for UP.

My iPad 1 always seemed to automatically connect to my MyWi network from my iPhone 4, but my iPad 2 does not. I have to go into Settings and manually connect.... Is there a fix for this?
When you connect to the mywi network click the little blue arrow next to the network name... There should be an option for auto connect when detected

I understand that Lion has changed the way Migration works. Does anyone happen to know if Lion will support the selective migration of apps from an existing system to a new one? For example, I'd like make a fresh start and migrate only Mail data and iPhoto data and select other programs+data.
I'm using a 2008 Mac Pro that has been migrated from several previous systems. Frankly, I'd like to get rid of a lot of junk.

Since you want the computer to be a media hub for your family, and you already have 100GB of media, I would go for the larger hard drive. Your media needs are only going to increase - especially with pictures and video from your T1i.
On the Office/iWorks issue I have to agree that if you are going to be exchanging files with office users (i.e. from work, family, etc), then just get office.
It will help for the kids also, when they are working on files for school. My kids were always working on Word Documents, Powerpoint Documents, etc. After spending alot of time on the documents at home, they need to know they work at school on the Windows machines...
On the subject of Applecare, this will provide you with two additional years of warranty coverage - after your warranty ends. You have to purchase it before the warranty ends, but it doesn't matter if you buy it on day 1 or day 365 - you get the same amount of coverage either way.
Remember Applecare doesn't cover accidental damage. Only warranty type issues, such as a dead motherboard, bad LCD, etc. Sometimes I think you do get preferential treatment at the Apple store though if you have purchased Applecare.
I have had very good luck with my Apple machines, so I don't tend to purchase it. That said, I have a pair of iMac G5's (2006 vintage) that could probably been repaired out of warranty with Applecare.
I would tend to agree on waiting to purchase it if you have any doubts. Give yourself 10 months or so to live with the machine, and see how it is working for you. Read the forums here and see how others with the same models are doing. If you are comfortable with it then you don't have to purchase it. If you have any concerns, then feel free to purchase it for some additional piece of mind.
One last thing - make sure you purchase an external hard drive if you don't already have one. Set it up with Time Machine (included with your Mac) or the backup program of your choice, and make sure all of that media is backed up. If you can, get two drives, and keep one of them at work, or somewhere else offsite, just incase something happens at your home.
Good luck with your new Mac!

The potentially bad part about this investigation is during the time of the options Apple had no "compensation committee".All compensation was approved by the board of directors. This could put Jobs in a bad position.
I think this was SOP at most corporations until recently.
