Can't you contact the bus company and ask if they found something? I lost my telephone once on a bus and could retrieve it later from the headquarters.

when i set the phone up, no matter what order i establish my two mail accounts in the phone, the mail app always lists the Google Exchange account as the bottom one, while my yahoo account is on the top. Even though the exchange account is default, the mail app always want to open the top one first (most times)
has anyone here figured out a way to make the Exchange account appear as the first one on the list?

Looks like I have another place spot to visit when i go to Australia.
I didn't know Apple store is a tourist attraction. though I must admit I went to check out the Apple Store when I went down to Sydney last year http://images.macrumors.com/vb/images/smilies/biggrin.gif hehe...
i recommend parking at the convention centre and walking through southbank. cheaper than CBD parking and less hassle!
...or you could just catch the bus.

Am I the only one who didn't like gears of war? I just thought it was incredibly boring. I couldn't stand more than 1/2 an hour playing it.
A movie based on it? The only good game => movie crossover I can think of was the tomb raider movies, and they we're only slightly above average. The mario movie was fun in the stuipest sense, but not good in the least.
No, you're not :)
Mario film sucked at the time but it seems to have gained cult status now. Sorta like He-Man and all that, it's so naff and bizarre that it makes it watchable. Sorta like Graham Norton or Airplane.
Bunch of meatheads shouting, might as well watch the Doom film again... or not.

Manager said if you're in line at closing and they still have what you want in stock, you'll get it.

Works great for me. But . . . there is still the "Are you still listening?" nag screen every hour, and there are commercials occasionally inserted between songs (maybe twice an hour). But, the commercials don't get saved when you're recording music. I've found it easier to save the songs to a desktop folder, rather than have them automatically transferred to iTunes. That way I can delete the songs I don't want before the transfer to iTunes. Also, it saves the songs into sub-folders matching the channels you were listening to, which helps with sorting. There is one issue that would make PandoraJam better, if they decide to fix it. You open the program in its own small non-browser screen, but you're not automatically logged in. So, you've got to switch to the full-size web mode, log in, and then go back to the small window. All in all, I think PandoraJam is pretty nice, but there are some annoying imperfections that should be addressed, and I wonder how long it will be around before Pandora tries to sue them out of business?

I wonder which are worst:
A) Video games based on movies, or
B) Movies based on video games.
Tough choice.

Funny in the beginning but it got old. With advertising you don't want to keep replaying the same old same old. People start tuning out.
They were good, but it was time to discontinue them.
Exactly.
At the beginning, the ads were smug.
After 6 months, they were smug and starting to get old. The series was no longer fresh.
That's when Apple and their marketing group decided to run the ads for another few years, until everyone, even people like my parents who don't care about computers, disliked the ads.

Ahh thanks for the responses. Sorry for my ignorance, I had no idea 3.0 wasn't compatible, I just assumed it worked since the plug fits :P Yes I am using a new model macbook pro (well waiting for it to arrive, anyway)
You mentioned "when it does gain support" does that mean there is talk of updating drivers, or is it more likely that it will only be supported in future updates of the Macbook model itself?
Also about OWC, I wasn't able to find any that were NOT run off an external power source so I assumed the Western Digital 640gb was the only size available. I'm on the go a lot, so I don't always have a convenient outlet to plug an external into.

You always get the exact same as you purchases. If they don't have any white iPhone 4 refurbished in stock then they will give you a new white iPhone 4, if they issue is they must replace the iPhone.

Yes. A switch or router, e.g. from Netgear, LinkSys, would work. If you're downloading large files using the two computers simultaneously, they'd share the bandwidth and slow each other's downloads, but with normal use (browsing, email) you wouldn't notice any difference with having both connected simultaneously. I have four computers often connected simultaneously.
If you're likely to be transferring large amounts of data between the two Macs, get a gigabit switch, which is 10x faster but costs maybe $10 more than a 100Mbit/s switch or router.
In fact, you may not want wireless now, but may in the future, so getting a wireless router like blevins suggested means you could connect e.g. an iPad, or let a friend or family member connect when visiting. You can turn off the wireless when not in use.

So does anyone have an idea why this may be the case? I'm not sure it was discussed earlier but I couldn't find it on the forums.

jacking up the shipping price is a good way to get some of your $$ back after ebay/paypal take their cuts. I'm guilty of it, too....At least you know in advance. It'd be different if you found out after the purchase. (Caveat Emptor or at least that's my best guess at spelling things in Latin)

Any upgrade really, I'd be paying the same price for them regardless.

Is it only because the texts are smaller?
Well everything is smaller, but it becomes a problem when it comes to text.

I notcied after having it for only a few days that there are two small scratches on the screen of my iPad, I've been extremely careful with it, its either in its case or in my hands so this is rather annoying. Does anyone know of any handy way to repair them?

Just cleaned it, didn't help.

I purchased one from ifixit.com brand new about 6 months ago and it died a couple weeks ago. I went back today and they have none in stock. I checked on eBay and they have after-market ones that look like they will do more harm then good. Is there anyone else that sells apple parts?
I bought 2 for travel purposes and never really used it if you are interested pm me thanks

Thanks much for your guidance. Much appreciated.
I've moved my HD to the Airport location and plugged it in to the Airport's USB port. The HD is powered up.
How do I get the drive to show up on my remote desktop?
Thanks again,
Bill
Open AirPort Utility and configure "AirDisk". Then check Finder > Preferences >> General >>> Show these items on the Desktop >>>> Connected servers, if you want to see the HDD on your Desktop.

Great post & well done.
It's great to see one so young (going by your profile), so passionate about such old equipment. :)
As an old fart who remembers doing component level repair on those Power/Sweep boards, floppy drives and motherboards when the exchange price of a Power/Sweep was AU$450.00, it makes me appreciate somebody taking the time to go this far.
At least when I'm gone there will be those who care enough to keep these curios going. :D
I work as an Apple Tech these days (training complete, pending certification). My co-workers in the service department are all technicians of the mid to late 80's, having worked on these Compact systems when they were brand new. However I don't think they appreciated it as much. Something tells me they were never expecting or hoping to see one of these again. Oh well.
There's just one thing that bugs me about this machine, and that's the fact that the Analog Board has 2 lifted traces, mainly caused by the aging of the board and the harsh weather conditions it was subjected to. They lifted with almost no effort during the capacitor replacement. I've since secured and epoxied them down, but i'll always know that at least one part of the machine had to be patched up. I briefly considered starting over with the Mac Plus analog board but I threw that idea out the window once I saw that the condition of it was significantly worse than the 512's.
I had hoped to build another system like this, perhaps with a 128k as the platform, armed with the knowledge of the first build on what to do (and more importantly what not to do). At this stage I have yet to find a machine that fits the bill as the dead ones are usually already dumped and the working ones are fetching decent amounts with no sign of the prices falling as of yet.

I would definitely work on improving the lighting. Maybe some better lamps? And, yes, definitely put up some wall art. Your space needs color!
Is that other room a grow house? ;) Could you move one of the plants to your main bedroom?
Also, mirrors can help a small space feel larger and/or more open.
Good luck!
