Hair Care Tips

General:-

1.A healthy lifestyle will mean healthier hair for you. Excessive stress, smoking, not exercising and not eating nutritiously are not healthy for your hair.
2.Get enough sleep.

Hair Products:-

1.Avoid using hair styling products with alcohol which dries out hair.
2.Avoid puting hair styling products directly on your scalp, if you put it on your scalp you'll clog the pores on your head.

Swimming:-

1.Before entering a pool, wet your hair so your hair will soak up the initial water instead of the chlorinated water.
2.When swimming where a cap to protect your hair from chlorinated water, if you choose not to wear a cap make sure you shampoo and condition your hair right after you are done swimming.

Drying:-

1.Hot air can be damaging to your hair so when using a hair dryer use the cool setting.
2.Don't leave the blowdryer in one spot for more than a few seconds, keep it moving and at a good distance away from your hair.
3.To speed up the drying process, pat your hair dry with a towell and let the remaining moisture in your hair dry naturally.
4.Gently use your fingers or a pick to untangle any knots while your hair is drying.

Combing/Brushing:-

1.Use a brush whose bristles are made from natural animal hairs, it is softer and more flexible which means less damage will be done to your hair.
2.Hair is most fragile when it is wet so avoid brushing or combing when it's wet, or else it will cause breakage, wait until your hair is almost completely dry before brushing it.
3.Use brushes/combs with widely spaced bristles/teeth and smooth tips. Sharp tooth combs can damage your hair, cause split ends, and scratch your scalp.
4.To keep your brushes and combs clean, wash them weekly using soap or shampoo.
5.Comb your hair to remove any tangles before brushing it.
6.Begin by combing your hair gently at the ends to get any tangles out and work your way up to the base of your hair.
7.Always brush/comb with a downwards stroke.
8.Avoid using plastic brushes/combs which create static electricity.

 Shampooing and Conditioning:-

1.Buy shampoos & conditioners that match your hair type, trial and error is the best way to find out what specific hair product is best for your hair.
2.Shower with warm water, hot water can dry and/or irritate the scalp.
3.It is important to wash your hair, shampooing removes dirt, dead skin cells, hair oils, any hair products you may put into your hair.
4.When shampooing, rinse your hair out before applying any shampoo to remove any dust, dirt, and any other foreign items, then apply the shampoo onto your scalp and massage it gently with your finger tips and work your way outwards. After you are done make sure that you thouroughly rinse out your hair to remove any shampoo residue that may be left. Shampoo residue may dry your scalp/hair and or attract dirt. It is recommended that you only lather once to avoid drying your hair out, if you have oily hair, lathering again may stimulate your oil glands to create even more oil than normal.

5.You should wash your hair as often as you feel necessary to keep it clean, but a general rule is for oily hair you should wash it every day or every other day and for dry hair only wash it 2-3 times a week.
6.Try rotating the shampoo and conditioner periodically, your hair responds differently to different products.
7.Use a conditioner after shampooing, it'll moisturize your hair, give it extra protection, add shine, reduce static, and makes it easier to untangle.
8.Use a leave in conditioner, it'll hydrate and protect your hair. A leave in conditioner on your hair is the equivalent of moisturizer on your face.
9.When conditioning your hair, try to spread conditioner evenly through out your hair and leave it in for a couple of minutes before rinsing out your hair.
10.Put the conditioner in at about an inch away from the scalp, the roots of your hair contain the most oils and usually don't need the extra conditioning.
11.Be gentle when shampooing and conditioning, don't use excessive force rubbing your hair, remember hair is most vunerable when wet.

Check your feet every day:-
Look at your bare feet for red spots, cuts, swelling, and blisters. If you cannot see the bottoms of your feet, use a mirror or ask someone for help.

Be More Active:-
Plan your physical activity program with your health team.

Wash Your Feet Every Day:-
Dry them carefully, especially between the toes.

Nails Care Tips:-

1.   Your nails are going to reflect what you eat. If you are living on burgers and fries, don't expect your nails to be strong and healthy. Sorry, it just doesn't work that way. Add a tub of yogurt and you are on your way.

2.   Get into the habit of wearing rubber gloves as often as possible. You often forget the abuse your nails actually take. Consider how often they are in water... just for starters.

3.   Gardening is another seemingly harmless activity that all the summer magazines suggest to you. While I agree that the exercise is a plus, it's not so great on your nails. I use gardening gloves and my nails still get dirty, but it's better than nothing and I have no broken nails at the end of the day.

4.    While watching tv, moisturize your hands AND nails with your favorite hand lotion. It's not only relaxing, it helps strengthen the nails.

5.   Cuticles can also use a little attention, but go gently. They need to be pampered and dry cuticles also contribute to hangnails, so be sure to spend a little time on them daily.

6.   Luckily at the moment, nails are fashionably short. That means that there is less nail to snap off and that is a bonus. Keep them trimmed and your nails will last longer.

7.   While some nails benefit from not using polish, mine seem to love the stuff. If they are polished, I seem to notice them more and devote a little more attention to them. They really seem to like that.

8.   Keep emery boards everywhere. The worse thing that can happen to pretty nails is a snag and your teeth.

Natural Skin Care Tips

Give Yourself a Dry Brush Exfoliation:-

A dry brush exfoliation can be done in the morning before you shower. It eliminates dead skin cells and allows the skin to detox (skin is the largest organ of elimination). Dry brush exfoliation also improves lymph and blood circulation and decreases puffiness. An added benefit is that the gentle pressure is calming to the nervous system. To give yourself a dry brush exfoliation, you'll need a soft, natural bristle brush.

Rev Up Your Digestion:-

In alternative medicine, good skin is a reflection of a good digestive system. People with skin disorders such as acne, rosacea, and psoriasis often suffer from constipation, imbalanced "good" vs. "bad" bacteria, leaky gut, and other digestive conditions.

Invigorate Sluggish Circulation:-

Do you sit at your desk for hours, only getting up to go to the bathroom? One of the best things you can do for your skin, stress level, and overall health is to get moving! Inactivity may affect skin and promote bloating and puffiness, acne, cellulite, and loss of muscle tone.

Avoid Excess Sugar:-

Most people do not realize this but excess sugar is considered one of the main causes of premature aging. The more sugar we eat, the more sugar we have entering our bloodstream. Over time, this can result in a process known as glycation  which is when a glucose (sugar) molecule damages a protein molecule by sticking to it. The new molecules formed are called advanced glycation end-products, or AGEs. AGEs damage collagen in skin, cartilage, and ligaments and promote a loss of elasticity. Wrinkles form and skin begins to sag.

Eat Some Good Fats:-

Essential fatty acids are simply fats your body cannot live without. They are needed to make cell membranes, hormones, and other body chemicals. Essential fats are thought to keep your heart healthy, fight inflammation, and possibly prevent cancer. They are also particularly important to people with inflammatory conditions such as eczema and acne, and also for people with dry skin. People with essential fat deficiency sometimes notice bumps on the backs of their arms.

Skin Care Tips

Wear A Sunblock Every Day:-
The primary cause of premature aging is exposure to the sun without adequate care and protection.

Don't wash your skin too often:-
Washing strips oil and moisture. Besides, tap water contains chlorine which causes oxidative damage. Washing your face twice a day is sufficient.

Wear sunglasses:-
will protect the eyes as well as the delicate skin around them. Take care in checking the products label and make sure they provide UVA and UVB protection.

Warm water over hot:-
When bathing choose warm water over hot. It is not as drying and is more natural.

Get ample sleep:-
Most of the body's repair and rejuvenation occurs while you sleep.

Follow a nightly regimen:-
Apply products 1 hour before bedtime to allow ample time to penetrate the skin.

Exercise regularly:-
It increases the flow of nutrients and oxygen to the skin, which will give skin a natural, healthy glow.

Choose products carefully:-
Everyone's skin is different, so try several to see which products work best for you and which produce an anti effect.

Never sleep with makeup:-
Sleeping with makeup is not natural for your skin. It may also have an adverse effect with your anti aging routine.
