Tattoo Darling v.7

Myke Chambers
After tattooing for over 16 years Myke has sold his studio in Austin and is now tattooing around the convention circuit. It's not just his art that inspires me it's his life and how he's turned his around. He was homeless at the age of 15, addicted to drugs from the ages of 17-30 but has been clean since 2005. Besides tattooing his life goal is to help others who are slipped down the wrong path by speaking at prisons and juvenile rehabs..... one day i'd like to make a difference.

Tattoo Darling v.5

Rose Hardy
I don't know why I haven't mentioned this lady earlier. The first tattoo i've seen by her was her pin up coming out of an egg and I loved it. She is currently working from Chapel Tattoo in Melbourne and Sacred in Auckland. I adore the way she does feathers and she creates the prettiest faces on her ladies. Be sure to check her out!

Tattoo Darling v.4

Matt Brotka
I'm glad I stumbled across Jacob Des and his Nothing But Regrets because otherwise I wouldn't of even known about his incredible paintings or his tattoos. His Joe Strummer painting left me speechless because I don't think I've ever seen a better artwork of my hero! His tattoo's are awesome as well! They are everything I like in a tattoo; strong, bold and colourful. Something that will age well rather than something so full of detail that it will be a ridiculous mess in ten years time.

Most pics from Matts blog.
His website is here.

Tattoo Darling v.3

Rachi Brains
This is pretty much one of all favourite hand tattoo i've seen in a while. I love that it's an ink and quill and the colours are awesome. What's to say about Rachi Brains? You can see piece that's done by her and it instantly screams her name. She is currently flat out and only accepting appointments of ideas that she digs. I know I would wait a long arse time to get a tattoo this good.

Tattoo Darling v.2

Mimsy Gleeson
This girl has got so many things going for her that I can't not mention her in my blog. She does work from a studio but is known for tattooing out of her vintage trailer at events such as Wintersun and Greazefest. Hence the name Mimsy's Trailer Trash Tattoos. She does the cutest mix of pin ups, zombies, cupcakes, lipsticks, hair dryers, perfumes and other girly creations. She recently got to tattoo the sweetest and sexiest pinup there is Sabina Kelly when she was out her for the Sydney Tattoo Convention. I think i'll shoot her an email to get tattooed at this years Greazefest...
Oh I almost forgot you might recognise her from the SBS documentary Roller Derby Dolls skating under Mimsy Mayhem.

Life Envy

After writing about Angelique in my previous post I grabbed out my copies of Tattoo Darling and Tattoo Mystique and realised i should of posted some of the pictures of her at home and some of her collages which give me major life envy... they make me think of Paris and Toulouse Lautrec, old time sailors, carnie folk and all the things that I adore. I'm in love with the colour of her walls and the happy and quirky vibes she creates. This talented dame is definitely from another time.
