iPods seem to refresh around September-ish, to coincide with back-to-school promotions.
Some have speculated that the Classic may be on its way out. If you want one, buy it now.

The subset of the general MR population capable of putting forth something useful and/or relevant in a science forum is much too small to merit a separate forum. They can't produce complete and useful sentences in the iPhone forums either yet those still exist.
The majority of people here are geeks, and geeks like science.

I would check the permissions on /Applications. It's possible that something set its permissions to be world writable. Probably running a Repair Permissions from Disk Utility would take care of that possibility.

Sounds like you need to read the thread again.
Thanks for catching that... that was incredibly dumb of me.

Congratulations to Lacero, winner of the "Static Avatar" category of the 2,000,000 Post Avatar Contest, and to our other finalists as well!Congratulations. He was the clear favourite and winner in this category IMHO.

That's basically what I've been doing, but I would have thought in this smart phone world that something as simple as a distribution list would be available.

Sorry for confusing, but youve made a quite nice photoshop comparison video
The one you made here:

But with new iMac vs Macbook something :p .. Im really looking forward for your test mate .. :)
If only you had the iMac with 2Gb DDR5 VRAM, that would be the maximum potential we can get .. but its cool, im afraid the gaming maybe suck a bit on native resolution with 1Gb VRAM, but well see
Aight, I think I can handle that. I guess I was confused by the term which you stated lol.

Be careful when you buy those prebuilt "gaming" desktops from ibuypower or other similar sites. They often put really awful video cards in them and you'll end up really disappointed. Just build one yourself
double agree.
buy the parts separate and build on your own. safe and satisfying.

Sounds like the base 27" is good for you. Spend the extra money on aftermarket RAM since virtualization requires a lot RAM.

Superdrives in laptops...easy.
Getting it to be slot loading and under an inch thick? Give it a couple of years...
Unless the pb form factor changes back to pismo like days, no superdrive this year.

Hello all,
I would like to find a good app that will allow me to create entity relationship diagrams. This would be what I would use it for now, but I would use it for any other situation where I might need to do diagrams for work in future. Export to PDF is a necessity, direct print from the app would be a plus but is not required.
I know there are lots of apps out there, so I was hoping some of you have tried a few and had suggestions. Omni group has some very attractive looking apps, and I have owned and enjoyed their desktop software in the past. Just want to see if there are less costly alternatives out there. I'll bite the bullet, price-wise, if needed, but want to tap into the experiences of you folks first.

Fairfax here, Fair Oaks mall, about 100 people as of 1:45. Fair Lakes is where I will try, Best Buy/Target/Wal-Mart no lines, but not sure how "limited" their stocks are.
Any updates re:
Clarendon, Tysons, Fair Oaks lines ??
Would love to hear. Going to pick up my wife from work and drive to one of those stores...

Last I heard on the SETI boards they need some folks that know how to program on Macs. The PC guys said they could give out raw code for windows but are not sure what needs to be done for a port. They said to ask NVIDIA, ATI, Apple to volunteer some programing help. They said ATI has not been helpful for doing a GPU port for windows so they are even less likely to help with a OSX port. I don't have a clue where to ask for help at Apple or NVIDIA.
The SETI GPU guys said they don't know about Open CL they are using the older NVIDIA programing language and until the Open CL kit comes out for windows they can't/don't know how to help. Open CL for Windows/Linux is set for sometime in the spring I heard.

Did you do any compression on that JPEG file? 1.6 megs? The JPEG won't load in Opera for me, but in Safari it does.
Anyroad, yes, that's a pretty cool concept. :)

Yes there have been a lot of different versions of the story, as far as BBC goes, remember this one?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02YW7qJsRE8
This kills me to no end, I died laughing. So let me get this straight, they bring on an MBA student coming into BBC for a technology management job, and then the BBC mistakenly puts this guy (his name is Guy as is the name of the person who was supposed to be interviewed) in makeup, then in front of national TV, and ask him questions about Apple Inc. vs. Apple Corps.
Man, with so many legions of MBAs out there, what a way to get noticed by the world.:D
But back on the topic, and the topic of funny, the police thought that the flight attendant could have killed somebody when he let out the inflatable slide. Man, you have to watch out for those inflatable slides. We are just losing too many people to them. I can see that the boys in blue are really fighting crime and "inflatable slides". ;)

The site you listed in your profile? I don't think a third grader could make that. Maybe a fourth grader, but definately not a third grader.;)
LOL - I had a friend that half-way built a gorgeous site, but had a sort of life change and ended up not being able to finish it. :o
It was really beautiful with a lof of interactive Flash elements.
Now I actually have to learn something, I guess.

All depends what you like doing on it I guess. I'd recommend for starters:
Games- don't really play them so not sure which!
Good reader for storing travel documents
Yell.com (or the US equivalent) for finding nearby services
Skype for keeping in touch with folk back home....
Have a search on the App store....
