Lots of speculation for this summer. But its only speculation.
Either you purchase now and possibly fork out the cost for lion, or just wait.

Living etc (a modern homes/interiors magazine).
I don't bother with tech/gadgets stuff unless i'm looking to buy something specific, in which case i might pick up a copy of something like Home Cinema Choice. I've never looked at a Mac magazine.
I also don't bother buying any girls mags... yes i said 'girls' not 'girlie' mags... i mean women's magazines (vogue, elle, cosmo etc), NOT the kind of 'girlie' mags you guys are thinking of ;)

Hope they realize soon that releasing Xcode updates shouldn't bee 4Gig download every time.
They did... with Xcode 3 and Snow Leopard. The updates would actually show up in Software Update. Xcode 4 is a regression.

Ok, so here is the deal. I have recently found my old apple 2.1 iphone lying around from a couple years back. I'm currently on t-mobile and wanted to know how to unlock my iphone for the apps and ability to use on t-mobile. Any help would be appreciated.
--iphone 2.1 - Modem firmware 04.05.04_G (yes, this is probably outdated - havent been used in a long time )
--Itunes 10
--Mac OS X version 10.6.6
thank you
Are you talking about the Iphone 2G with the silver/black in the back? if so, restore in itunes so it has the latest firmware which is 3.1.3.
once you've done so, then unlock it by following the link her;

Switcheasy Rebel or Torrent.
I don't think those are slim at all.
Try out a Contour Flick. REALLY slim. Barely has the lip, and makes your ipod as thin as a naked iphone if not thinner.

I remember a year ago my MBP had problems with random freezes. I took it to the Apple store and they were able to find a history of problems recorded by my MBP that says in fact my macbook did freeze several times. I remember he was able to fix it by troubleshooting the problem in that application. However, I forget what that application was to show the list of problems. I'm having the problem again and I really don't want to make a trip to the Apple store..
If anyone knows, thanks!
PS- it's not an application you download. I believe it was system profiler, but I can't find it anywhere on that :S!

Apple is already sending out the emails for white iPhones. I imagine that's what the downtime is about.

If it was just the screen, the iPod would still sync with your computer. I had a problem like this before and I just left mine alone for a few days until the battery ran down, then it started working again.
If nothing else works, you may just have to chock it up to old age (6 years is an eternity in Apple's walled garden!)

You will likely be able to get it on a Thumb Drive, use an External Drive, or use Remote Install to install it via another computer with an optical drive.

Besides Nanofrog's really good advice there is also another option, namely going with the ZFS filesystem, which can make dynamic stripes on its own.
In this manner you can skip on the expensive RAID-card altogether and opt for more drives and the only filesystem that really offers data integrity.
You could grab this 12-bay Hot-swappable enclosure (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816133044) for a meager $399.99 and have enough upgrade options down the road.
I'm a fan of the ZFS filesystem, as it can offer less expensive alternatives for some (have to make sure the server can handle the overhead, and the user has the technical know how to implement and manage the software, especially if it's via a form of Linux to save on funds).
There are ready-made solutions out there though (not tried anything out on a Mac, so I don't know if there's issues). But one company that does a decent job of it is Oracle.

It'll work but file transfers will be very, very slow.
We are talking about a file server on a local network. It's only data transfer bottleneck would be the ethernet connection. The iBooks stock HD could easily keep up with gigabit ethernet.
Don't understand what your "very very slow" statement is based on.

The bus powered WD drives will transfer about 70MB/s for a sustained transfer of large files vs over 100MB/s for the full-fat powered varieties. Speeds drop a bit for smaller files.
That is for traditional mechanical hard drives. That is what I have achieved under Windows, for what it is worth.
Speeds for SSDs will depend upon the drive itself.

I have an iPod Classic 5.5G since May 2008 (160GB version) and since then I can only charge i by a computer USB port or an USB mains adapter.
But using a car charger it did not work.
Now I ordered a higher power (2 amps) car charger for my iPad2 which worked flawlessly on my iPad2. Even connected to my 6 Volts, 1A solar panel it charged the iPad in about the same time as on the provided mains adapter.
So I tried it with the iPod classic but it did not charge at all not at 6V ot 12V.
Does the iPod require a very precisely controlled / stabilized power suplly ?

Just noticed the apple store website is down in Australia - the education one at least. I am ready for a new computer. Probably a laptop - but I will go an imac maybe... then get an old laptop. My 17" MBP is only 2years old and is falling apart. I should take pictures. You wouldn't believe what my battery looks like. (And that is just one problem).
Anyhoo... Im in the market and hoping!

Probably around the same time it ships, 2 weeks.
Seems like everything at the Keynote was "Available in just 2 weeks!"
takes time to roll everything out so they're not overloaded. or underprepared or overordered too many MBA.

I want to trade my one week old 16GB iPod Touch for an 8GB iPhone. The only reason I want to trade is because I just like the iPhone better. There are a few small scratches on the back, but that is bound to happen because it is like a mirror. It is in great condition otherwise, like I said, it is exactly one week old. Let me know if you are interested.

If possible SSH into the device, remove any traces of your dev, then try adding sources manually via SSH and then restarting cydia. if the problem persists, back up the device and re jailbreak it (if possible)
Cydia may have become corrupted whilst you have been trying to build this dev.
Mobile terminal may offer some help, try deleting all packages and sources currently installed (if any) and re loading cydia again
