Okay so everything else would be compatible right? Like let's say I pick up that hard drive for 120 gigs, get a logic board and install both, the screen and click wheel, etc would all work? Also if I got a 6th gen face place, do you think it would attach onto a 5th gen back? They're all interchangable compatible with cosmetics as well as their hardware? Because I got that harddrive+battery+replacement back for 85, a logic board for 40, and a 6th gen face plate for 5 bucks. Will they all fit together?

I'm planning on heading there later on today... Regardless of the line, I know the apple store will have enough iPads in stock. So i'm not worried.
I might head over at 2:30 (I have to buy some new headphones anyway so I might as well get them before I get the iPad)
I can update the status of the line when I get there

Yesterday, I was loading cydia. It showed no packages, and the problem continued, so I uninstalled Cydia ("rm -r /Applications/Cydia.app", don't judge me). I tried to reinstall it from a deb, and it worked, but the problem continues. Someone told me to just add a source, and when I do, it says something's wrong with modmyi (not the source I'm adding), and then says "The package com.luep.argentum needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.". com.luep.argentum is a deb i was trying to build on my ipod, but it didn't work. I no longer need the deb, but it's causing this problem. How can i fix this?

Hello everyone!
I am wondering if somebody could help me. For the last 3 months I have been working on creating an animated stopmotion film. I have created the real 3D sets, done the clay figures and shot the still images. As I am not very good with computers and all the settings that there are, I just imported every single image from iPhoto into Imovie and changed the time lapse for each image to 0,2 and thats how I created the animated film. It looks good, but since the film is now over 5 min long, the software (or can it be my computer?)gets really slow. Sometimes I cant even watch the video, and definitely not in the full size mode, just on a small video image in imovie.
I am getting really stressed about this now since I have put so much work into it and just want to finish the project (maybe add another 2 more min) and export it to a dvd with as good quality as possible.
I started to read about imovie and discovered it isnt supposed to be used for stopmotion. So.. I just got istopmotion and did a small test reimporting just onescene, then trying to export it, and importing it into imovie (i like using imovie because of all the possibilities of playing around with contrasts and colors)
But now the quality of the images looks really bad. It isnt at all as sharp as before. I have tried so many different settings while exporting from istopmotion, but it doesnt seem to make much difference. I am working in 4:3 ration, and the best option seems to be HD ( but in 16:9 only) so that doesnt seem to work.
Does anybody have any advice for me?
Should I use a completely different software for this and start from scratch?
Or is there maybe just some small trick that I am missing??
I would be very thankful for help!
Lia

Nobody ever said that! :D
It's just incredibly rare. The average user should only see a Kernel Panic (crash) once a year on average.
jtown, as for that 'crash'. That sounds serious. A kernel panic or KP for short, presents itself by greying the screen with a box in the middle telling you to restart in several languages. The black screen thing you describe sounds like some kind of hardware failure. What can you tell me about the circumstances? What was the temp/humidity of the room? How hot did it get in there?

i think the "switch", tho i don't like to call it that, is really easy.
most of the stuff thats on PC that use ctrl is open apple on mac. omg, i was using osX so fast after a few days.
macosx.com has some tips and tricks also.

The Sketch-a-Search app is very good. smart intuitive UI, someone in Yahoo is finally thinking outside of the (search) box.
but one thing that really stuck out was that it was using maps provided by Google. Really yahoo?

Okay, so my grandfather has agreed to help me with a computer for school. He said apple would be better(I can't figure out how an 83 year old man knows this).
He told me to get a final price after GST and everything.
It's mainly for school throughout the day. Some video watching and music. I'm not a gamer.
He said make it's it cheaper, but make sure its quality.
Mac mini is $749 here in edmonton before GST, and the 21.5" iMac is 1,299 before taxes.
I have a couple monitors and everything I need for the mac mini, but I can't decide what would last longer.
I'm coming from an HP laptop running windows 7.
As you already have monitors, peripherals & don't play games, I'd go for a Mini.
FWIW, my intel iMac's logic board fried recently after 2yrs 10 months. As I didn't get Apple Care (I thought I was safe, partly because of Apple's reputation + I have a heavily-used iBook still going strong after over 5 & 1/2 years & still use an 8 year old G4 iMac), I'm left with expensive junk fit only for selling cheaply for spare parts.
I thought I was plain unlucky, but Googling about this suggests that, while the problem isn't common, it's neither extremely rare for intel iMac's to develop logic board problems. If you get an iMac, just make sure you also buy Apple Care to cover you for at least 3 years.
PS: I like Apple products. IMO, most of them are indeed superb quality. However, in view of the expense, I'll never again buy another AOI, whether from Apple or any other company. FWIW, that sucks as I'm also a Mac gamer, so some games will also be eBayed, unless Apple update their Mini soon. - But good luck whatever you buy!

Description:: It was predicted this Summer that Apple would, sooner or later, offer free engraving for its market-defining iPad (Apple Store) tablet computing device. Well, the day has arrived and now you can personalize every iPad you give, like as the one you give yourself, for Christmas this year. That said, you can add up to two lines and each line can be up to 35 characters long, including spaces, punctuation, etc.

Try dragging to the trash can.
I had an app fail install and already dropped it in the Applications folder and Launchpad. Clicked on it in launchpad and got a ? mark in the middle of the icon, tried to delete it any way I could and found dragging it to the trash can works.

You'd need an OS for the VM. You could look at Crossover to see if that would work. No OS required.

Hi. My old VHS is slowly giving up the ghost and so we have decided to move with the times and get one of those DVD/HDD recorder things. The problem is that we have a stack of store bought videos that my kids still want to watch. I'm not looking to start a pirate movie business but I think it fair for me to copy those movies over to DVD for personal use. Does anyone have any suggestions or links that can help? Cheers in advance. :)
You will need a DVD Recorder, and, Grex to transfer your VHS media to DVD.The copy protection I speak of is the macrovision that is causing you not to be able to get good copies of the VCR tapes.I bought a GREX (macrovision remover) for the same purpose. http://xdimax.com/grex/grex.html.
It works great.
