Hook up the hard drive and enable file sharing in system preferences under the sharing tab.
That should automatically share it to other Macs in the same network, not sure how you would go accessing it via a PC though, I guess you could do a Samba connection somehow.
EG "SMB:\\10.0.1.11\\Macintosh HD"
Otherwise it should show up in the network menu under finder on your other Macs.

Leave out the smilies and people think you're having a blah day, put them in and it's a smiley war.
What do you expect from a rebuttal to MacBandit's previous comments on creating a blah post and stomping on peoples dreams? ;)
Now KC wants to see the dancing pink elephant ... sorry can't do it, he's drunk right now. :(

You'll just have to wait and see. I assume that since it didn't turn off, it should be okay but the keyboard might not work anymore. But you never know. You'll just have to wait. Let it try out and report what happens!

well range isnt always as advertised, there are many factors that your house may have that decreases range
like thick walls
interference
the location of the routher (central is best since most routers are omnidirection), you could get a directional antena to boost signal
or a repeater to put more signal in harder to reach parts

Your only choice to upgrade is 4.3 today.
If you upgrade you will lose the ability to fully use the camera connection kit, on the other hand your GPS if a 3G model will improve, and you'll get gestures, and a larger selection of software...
Have you done the tiny umbrella bit yet? This does not do anything to your iPad, and will at least allow you to return to the 4.3 software version...
Ahh thanks for the reply. I am going to do the TU portion right now. Guess I will go straight to 4.3. Might as well because 3.2.2 on the iPad does not even have multitasking!
Just to clarify, I can upgrade to 4.3 the "normal apple way" correct, and then still be able to JB after that? ( know it's tethered, but I can live with that)

bida, bida, bida-da-dum....boo!
I've got as far as the checkout at Apple's online store before remembering that I can't remember the last time I would've had a use for it. If I take the plunge it'll mean I've got to find time to do some exercise then I think would the money be better spent on a rowing machine? But I'm not going to use that unless I've got an iPod to listen to.
So you can hear the voices too, at least that makes me feel better.
Yes, LOUD voices...
I don't freaking need the thing. I have got to have it.
Maybe I should see how long I can go before I go mental.

Could you give me more information on the PC/Mac switchboxes? Are they KVM switches? If so, what connectors/cables do they have. Are they USB or ADB? What about VGA? Thanks!
One is a a/b paralell, i know it works
The other is an apple serial port(adb style) a/b
I also have a VGA a/b/c/D one I could sell also, but it would cost more, around $6.50
pics avalible if you want
specs on the acer?
Spects on the Acer:
Intel Celeron 366 mhz CPU
12gb hard drive
128mb ram
CD/Floppy drive
USB, ethernet, modem, etc
46 minute battary.
AC adaptor, phone cord, PS2 mouse, USB light, and battary cover also included.
Would love to trade for an ipod,(anything but a shuffle)

I can find a good web person or two to do the work for me, incase they are end up being friends willing to do it cheap, how much would the work normally cost (avg type work) so I can pay them what they deserve?
Difficult question to answer, as it depends on several factors: their level and area of expertise, the area you live in, and how complicated the site is.
I've seen trends going towards "packages" for initial setup of a site then a maintenance fee afterwards, and some people still stick with a flat rate per hour. Personally, most of the time I charge $30/hour, but that's the same rate I've been charging since 1998, and even then it was about half the going rate in that area. Unfortunately, I couldn't tell you what the going rate is now (it could have crashed with the dotcom bubble burst, for all I know)... People still seem to be willing to pay the $30/hr though.

the game was amazing when i got it, but after a while it kinda got boring. i got the Thieves Den expansion and the uh.. magic one.. from OXM for free, but it still wasn't enough to get me back into. The Shimmering Isles or something is a huge expansion coming out soon and i might give that a try.

i'm sorry but the least it's going for is $850 plus shipping. if i can't get that i will just keep it.
Not that you asked, but my suggestion would be to lower your starting bid and have a reserve of $850. Like I said before, I think it would be great if you got that much for it.

I already have several 1TB disks, of which I will use one and I have one 2TB external I can use. That means I need to buy:
Two SSD drives
One 2TB internal HDD
One 3TB internal HDD
One 3TB external HDD
I'm thinking that will all cost more than $400 but I can go over a couple hundred if needed.
You should be able to manage this then if you don't go crazy on the SSD used for the boot disk (say 80GB max, and I suspect the OWC 60GB would be of sufficient capacity as a boot disk, which is ~$139USD). Neither this or the 40GB versions are 6.0Gb/s, but they're fast, and quite good for random access. And more importantly, would allow you to stay within your actual budget. ;)

Turn the master track down by 0.5db and put an aupeaklimiter tool on up by about 2db, should fix the issue. Also, make sure you don't have normalise turned on in settings.

So... your doing a review? If you are what is wrong with more than one review? Also, I didn't advertise anything. Oh, and I thought you ordered the Rebel, not the Torrent.
Si, and I don't mind you doing it. I just don't want this thread getting steered in a different direction just in case it is relevant and useful to someone else.

I am going crazy with this.
I have a presentation in Keynote '09, version 5.05 (942) and am trying to export it to powerpoint 2007. When I try to open the presentation, I get an error message saying "Power Point was unable to display some of the texts, images, or objects on slides in the file (name), because they have become corrupted. Affected slides have been replaced by blank slides in the presentation and it is not possible to recover the lost information, To ensure that the file can be opened in previous versions of Power Point, use the Save As command (File menu) and save the file with either the same or a new name."
Anybody else have this problem and know how to fix it?

I actually agree that the 3GS was a massive upgrade, however it wasn't enough for a fully-fledged upgrade essentially it was the iPhone 3.5, I had a 3GS and it was amazing compared to my friends 3G, however a iPhone 4GS probably wouldn't be worth an upgrade from an iPhone 4.
Also from carriers points of view and 24 month contracts now the norm a 4.5 would allow Apple to create essentially 2 generations of users.
iPhone 4GS would look exactly the same (maybe slight adjustment), and slightly bigger memory (possibly 8GB version phased out and replaced with 16gb) + the white edition.
I would expect the iPhone 5 to be quite a bigger adjustment/re-design.
You guys have your numbering mixed up.
iPhone 1 (2G)
iPhone 2 (3G)
iPhone 3 (3GS)
iPhone 4
The next one will come out this year, and even if they come up with a different name for it, it will still be the iPhone 5. Whether there is a redesign or a spec bump, it's still a new phone.
