Robots: A-Z

When the robot revolution begins I'll have little idea who or what's attacking me as I could only name half of these, at best. (Robots: A-Z at TShirtLaundry, via shitoid)

Exterminate! Exterminated

Dalek's have no loyalty to other robots. Exterminate! (Exterminated by jimiyo at TeeFury)

Update: I have been informed that Daleks are not, in fact, robots, thus revealing my pop culture shame — I've never watched Dr. Who.

Vitruvian Robot

This is what it would look like if the Borg only assimilated robots. The Vitruvian Machine by Captain RibMan shows 40+ robots, cyborgs & machines from pop culture. Plus it says Deckard was a replicant. Had that been decided? Huh. Anyway, here's an index:

Famous Robots Roles During The Robot Apocalypse

There are some small errors in this (seems C-3PO becomes a Borg during the apocalypse and Bender's primary objectives are bending, "cheesing" it, and killing all humans,) but I love how they all turn on us in the end. (Robot Roll Call by Pleated-Jeans, via zupaztrupa)

Flaming Lips: Do You Realize?

Do you realize?
That everyone you know someday will die
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

I saw an amazing performance this week by The Flaming Lips in Toronto, a true spectacle that left me in awe. These aren't my videos — my camera phone isn't up to the job, but they give you a great sense of being there.

One of the highlights was the sing-along to Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.

And Wayne Coyne did crowd surf in his space ball / hamster ball and @phrichards got a great shot. If you ever get a chance to go see this bad don't pass it up.
