Miss Piggy And The Elders

Art is just coming alive for me since coming across Hillary White. Her latest, Miss Piggy and the Elders based on Artemisia Gentileschi's Susanna ei Vecchioni. I'm like all cultured and stuff now.

Sesame Street Anatomy Lesson

I'm hoping Cookie Monster is shocked and not hungry, because if he is, this lesson will not end well. The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Bird by Hillary White, based on Rembrandt's The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp. (Link via Super Punch)

The Tragic Life Of Oscar The Grouch

Did you really think that Oscar chose to live in a garbage can? Sesame Street is really rock bottom for Muppets. (Link via Maneggs)

The Muppets Name Etymology

I never realized that The Muppets were so well categorized as demonstrated by Jeff Rubin and Caldwell Tanner's venn diagram on College Humor. Though I can't believe any human is called Elmo.  (Link via The Daily What, by way of John Farrier.)

Muppets Kick Ass

Where is the new Muppets Show? This is the sort of parody we need to see!

C Is For Chewie

Pop artist James Hance has a "new exhibition of new and classic works by James Hance - Muppets, Fraggles, Goblins from the Labyrinth, Goonies, Superheroes, imaginary friends and childhood idols come to life (not literally, that would be terrifying) on canvas, for one night only - come enjoy a visual and audible feast for your misbehaving inner child!"

Saturday Morning Glory - Doodles From the Naughty Step is showing in Jacksonville, Fl., this Saturday, so I don't know how many of you could actually attend, but hopefully some of the prints will be on display at his site.

I don't know if c is for chewie is part of the show but his latest painting, Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem is.
